Abstract: Everyone agrees that international conflicts carry the seed of worldwide destruction, thus requiring an effective approach to their resolution. The major problem of international conflict resolution today, however, is how to avoid war rather than how to attain peace. Still, the continuance of a given conflict situation may be perceived as serving the interests of a particular country.
